Coca-Cola® BBQ Ribs

• ADD TO COOKBOOK
While I'm the master of the baking, The hubs is the king of the bbq and smoker in this house and he makes a mean rack of ribs using Coca-Cola in both the sauce and the marinade. -Rachel, http://www.frugalonthecheap.com

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 Rack of Pork Ribs (roughly 3lbs)
  • 2 Liter Coca-Cola®
  • 4 TB Brown Sugar
  • 1 TB Garlic powder
  • 1 TB Onion Powder
  • 1 TB Paprika
  • PREPARATION

    1. Combine dry ingredients to make a pork rub and fully coat the rack of ribs.
    2. Place ribs in a large ziploc bag and add all but 2 cups of the Coca-Cola® into the bag and leave it overnight in the refrigerate to marinate.
    3. Remove ribs from marinade mixture and apply more rub.
    4. Take the marinade mixture and boil it on the stove to use later on to baste the ribs as they are cooking.
    5. Smoke the ribs for about 4 hours, basting them with the marinade mixture about once an hour.
    6. Take the 2 cups of reserved Coca-Cola® and boil it down on the stove until it has a syrupy consistency and coat the ribs just before they are complete cooked to create a slight sticky crust.
