strawberry punchbowl cake

• ADD TO COOKBOOK
I made this for my husband when we were dating, he said he had never tasted anything like it. I think it may have been what prompted him to ask me to marry him. We have been married for almost three years and it has been the best three years of my life.

INGREDIENTS

  • 2 cups confectioners' sugar
  • one 5-oz can evaporated milk
  • one 16-oz container sour cream
  • one 16-oz container cool whip, thawed
  • 1 large angel food cake (homemade or store bought), torn into bite-size pieces
  • one 20-oz can crushed pineapple, drained
  • two 1-pound packages frozen unsweetened strawberries, thawed
  • 1 package or jar strawberry glaze
  • PREPARATION

    1. In a large bowl, stir together the confectioners' sugar and evaporated milk. Add the sour cream and cool whip. Stir in the angel food cake and pineapple.
    2. In another bowl, combine the strawberries with the glaze (prepared according to package directions, if using dried).
    3. Spoon the cake mixture into the bottom of a glass punch bowl. Top with the strawberry mixture. Let stand overnight in the refrigerator to set.
    4. ENJOY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
